Sažetak
Psychodermatological disorders are conditions caused "by the interaction of the psyche and the skin", and divided them into three groups: psychosomatic disorders (urticaria, acne, alopecia), the primary psychiatric disorders (illusion parasites, dysmorphophobias, trichotillomania) and secondary psychiatric disorders (hemangiomas, psoriasis, the KS sarcoma.) Urticaria is one of the most common diseases in the field of dermatology and is divided in the acute and chronic urticarial considering the time of duration (acute-less then 6 weeks and chronic-more than 6 weeks). Psychological distress has an important role as a trigger in the exacerbation of the disease. Numerous studies have shown that the quality of life in these patients decreased to the same extent as in patients with coronary disease, and it is reflected in the limitation of social functioning and difficulties in daily activities. Urticaria patients experienced significantly greater amount of stress one year prior to the onset or exacerbation of the disease. The psychological factors such as coping with stress and quality of life may play an important role in the development and/or ongoing urticarial. Hypothesis of this article was that patients suffering from chronic urticaria have lower quality of life and they use inadequate coping mechanismis, such as avoidance. Objectives of this article were: to examine is there differences between acute and chronic urticaria in quality of life and coping mechanisms.
