Sažetak
Coating and sealing materials embedded in transformer components are subjected to considerable ageing processes during the service life of the transformer which can usually be several decades. During the long working life of a transformer abnormal events could occur. Faults that may occur during transformers operation could be consequence of accelerated ageing of the embedded transformer materials. Whether it is a case of new construction or repair work, it is always a matter of reliably recognizing material degradation and taking care of it. In order to avoid costly breakdowns, minimize downtimes and extend the lifespan of a transformer an extensive knowledge of the embedded materials as well as a specific and precise analysis is fundamental. Depending on various climatic exploitation conditions of transformer, properties of coating and sealing materials should be defined to assure quality and resistance to harsh environmental influences. A review of quality assurance methods for coating and sealing materials used in production of transformers is presented in this paper.
