Sažetak
The identification of different models for school modernization is an important segment of practitioners' and scientists' work commitment. Opening the school to the partnership is an model for educational improvement. Newman (2002) and Previšić (2012) point out that the expansion of school activities with the opportunities provided by the extracurricular environment affects the complete transformation of students' knowledge and skills. Since the introduction of cultural and artistic achievements of civilization is one of the most important tasks of education (Hermann, 2004 ; Vidulin-Orbanić, 2013), special attention should be attached to the enrichment of students' school and out-of-school time. The intention of the author is to present the possibilities of cultural network and collaborations between schools and private music and non-music associations. The educational project Music Theorem and three children's choral festivals are analyzed, with the intention to determine what competencies the students acquire in one extended educational process. Music Theorem is a cycle of educational concerts for students of the compulsory school, conducted by a private association which provides an opportunity to live music experiences and talk with the artists and composers. Analyzing the concerts' program, we have noticed that it partly coincides with the music syllabus for the compulsory school and offers a possibility to learn music outside of school and to experience different music types. In order to popularize choral singing and pick out talented students, the projects of school, town and county singing festival for students, in cooperation with schools and partners (private music associations and the town) have been revealed successful. Students had the opportunity to develop their singing skill, make music in collaboration with other artists, which also had a great impact on their social and emotional development. These examples are the proof that school, with the partners' support, has influenced the advancement of the students' cultural and artistic identity. The collaboration between school, associations and other institutions contribute to a better understanding of music and affect active students' participation in the musical life of the community.
