Sažetak
Multiple identities during LBA and IA in southern Carpathian Basin will be disscuss on cases from several cemeteries in northern Croatia. In Late Bronze Age southern Carpathian Basin was southeastern border of Urnfield culture. Uniform mortuary practice with small variations in selection fo grave goods offer data about gender identities. Female identities can be recognized mostly by spindle-whorls. Male identities can be recognized by arms or rarely warrior equipment in several graves. Cremated anthropological remains don’t give much possiblities to recognize all anatomical deformation during deceased live activities, battle injuries or reproductive status. In Urnfield societies children were buried separatly from the youngest age, except few rare examples were they were buried with adult female person, probably mothers. Burial records in Early Iron Age differed by more grave goods, mostly ceramic vessels and more body ornaments which also can be signs of social and age identities od deceased. In Early Iron Age, area of northern Croatia was on the southeastern border of Eastern Hallstatt culture. Cremation was still usual way of burial, except some border communities in Danube and Sava region were biritual body treatment was practiced. In Early Iron Age communities in southern part of middle Danube region multiple female identities can be recognized in few exceptional graves with multiple burials. Warrior equipment and arms are rare found in usual cremated male graves in Croatian part of Danube region. In 6th century BC body tretment changed in skeletal way of burial what offers many possibilities in reading identities in body remains. But there is just few cases of excavated graves. In Late Iron Age body treatment again changed into cremation, strongly rooted in Carpathian basin. Female and male multiple identities became more visible in many grave goods of attire, arms and warrior equipment. Burial records of LBA an IA in southern part of Carpathian Basin offer different possibilities in reading female and male identities in different communities: in LBA an EIA female multiple identities is easier to read and in LIA male multiple identies became more visible.
