Sažetak
The goal of this study was to determine the effect of technical efficiency parameters in Croatian wrestling national team members on their placing in World Championships in 2013, which was particularly significant due to major changes of wrestling rules that were introduced in January 2013. The results on the correlation between the selected parameters of technical efficiency and placing indicate a statistically significant correlation between them (p<0.05). The proportion of variance (Multiple R2) was 28%. In addition, a statistically significant correlation (p<0.05) was also determined for two variables in terms of the final placing of the wrestlers – throws from the standing position and turns from the par terre position. The effect of technical efficiency parameters in Croatian wrestling national team members on their placing was statistically significant, however relatively little. The conclusion can be made that training plans and programmes for wrestlers of different age should be modified after each change of wrestling rules, with consideration of the importance and impact of technical efficiency parameters on the placing in World Championships. Future research should also include other parameters (tactical, physical conditioning, psychological, etc.) that have a significant effect on the final placing of wrestlers in major competitions.
