This is a book on the mansions of Northern Croatia. Manors and Gardens in Northern Croatia - Slavonia includes 60 manors and their gardens on the territory bordered by the rivers Drava, Sava and Danube, covering the region from Zagreb on the west to Ilok on the east. Narratives about the manors in Slavonia do not only give an image of buildings and parks but also of the social, cultural and historical ambience, of the time (sometimes as early as medieval), of their construction, of the estates on which these manors where used as residences, of the economic value of the estates, of their different owners, of the settlements that developed in the surroundings of the manors, and even of anecdotes about manor-houses and the families that lived in them.
