Sažetak
The SO2 environmental pollution in the Rijeka refinery plant area and in nearby city of Rijeka is above regulatory recommended values. The computer simulation of maximum pollution in nearby 12 by 13 km region was performed in order to develop different scenarios to diminish the pollution. Gaussian plume model was used to simulate dispersion and diffusion of pollutant in realistic 3D elevated terrain. Genetic algorithm was employed to find maximum pollution in various meteorological conditions, for the measured source emissions from 17 stacks with variable heights, dispersed throughout the whole plant.
