Sažetak
Applications become platforms of digital future as they easily integrate information and communication technology (ICT) based innovations and dominate on a mobile market. Smartphone applications are social, marketing and technological phenomenon and therefore the area of research is wide and includes different characteristics. Application lifecycle is formed based on the traditional product life cycle (PLC) and provides descriptive overview of application success. The stages of application lifecycle vary accordingly to the application category. Therefore, it is necessary to introduce and explain the term of application categorical life cycle (ACLC). This research aims to summarize a substantial correlation between maintenance and application and to emphasize the importance of understanding the application lifecycle (ALC) for application adoption and success. Decisions of application lifecycle management (ALM) are based on user activities within the ALC. Provided flow chart of user activities and the ALC from user perspective helps the understanding of those activities and facilitates deployment of updates for optimization of the ALC.
