Sažetak
In this paper the author tries to show that "Dune" and "Blue Velvet" represent two very different artistic realisations of the same concept, which in a number of fragmented ideas started popping up in Lynch's mind in the 1970's and turned into films in the 1980's. These ideas are in his opinion fragments of the concept of "positive liberty", which was philosophically constructed and presented by Isaiah Berlin in his famous essay from 1958 - 'Two Concepts of Liberty'.
