Sažetak
The paper examines a global influence of Americanization, especially in light of (occasionally quite noticeable) modifications effectuated in the European customs and languages. Also examined is the notion of Americanization in business practices, literatures, politics, popular cultures and lifestyles (e.g. in consumerism and cuisines), sports, technologies and in the media. Eventually, the paper discusses a topic of (sometimes excessive) American influence on modern slanguages, which is increasingly evident in the Croatian vernacular as well.
