Sažetak
Paper discusses about advantages of the digital toolsets in the presentation and valorization of specific Heritage building characteristics as to preserve authenticity in the sense of dating, historicity, and architectonic relevance on the example of the Croatian City of Osijek and its historical nucleus—Tvrđa. Osijek’s Tvrđa is a part one of the largest systems of baroque fortified cities of Europe (that was extended on the territories of the present-day states of Hungary, Croatia, Serbia and Rumania) erected by the Habsburg Monarchy in the first half of the 18th century in Danubian area along the borderline to the then Ottoman Empire. The fortification bulwarks were demolished in the 1920s due to a change in historical circumstances and because of a development and modernization of city. Though the structure of a planned baroque city within a citadel remain preserved, the citadel has remained without its most pronounced feature—a fortification complex with which it comprised an integral entity. Authors are presenting a planned smartphone app project that would provide the users with a new experience of the city’s historical nucleus (and its original surroundings - bulwarks) via augmented reality and interactivities and via more direct introduction to its history and cultural values. A part of the original baroque ambiental values could be replaced by the digital augmented reality tools—to present the primordial relation between a city tissue and its functional surroundings, bastion, via augmented reality on one side, and to present the value of Tvrđa by interactive contents in a modern way on the other side.
