Sažetak
An application of a new tool life data analysis is presented for the selection of optimal parameters in a Physical Vapour Deposition coating operation. Experimental results obtained in slot milling of UNI 38 NiCrMo5 steel are analyzed both in terms of the ISO 3685 - ISO 8688 standard and with a recent modeling of flank wear progression, which allows to calculate tool life. The possible use of flank wear modeling to improve the approach to the statistical validation of tool life analysis is briefly discussed.
