Sažetak
This article focuses on discussing the relationship between magic tradition in West Balkan countries and contemporary art. A tradition-based mythological worldview is one of the foundations of the dominant sexual and gender constructions often explored by artists in the region, such as Zlatko Kopljar, Marijan Crtalić, Marko Marković, Martina Miholić and Bojan Gagić. It is they who, in their works, deconstruct gender and mythological paradigms, discuss the problem of witchcraft, ritual and fertility archetypes, questioning thus the entire social and cultural matrix of the Western Balkans.
