Sažetak
The paper proposes a mathematical model to predict the tool flank wear during the turning process. The thrust component of cutting force has been found to correlate with the gradual flank wear progress. Prediction of tool flank wear has been achieved by combining the thrust force-time measurements and developed adhesion flank wear model. The model was verified by comparing the predicted values with the measured values. A strong correlation was obtained between these two sets of values.
