Sažetak
This paper deals with the study and development of a surface roughness prediction model for CO_2 laser cutting of QStE 380N steel, using probability theory. A polynomial of the second order on a logarithmic scale, in terms of laser cutting parameters, namely cutting speed and cutting gas pressure, was developed taking into account a probability level. An effort has also been made to investigate the influence of the proposed surface roughness prediction model on laser cutting optimisation results.
