Sažetak
Labor exploitation is the most common form of the crime of trafficking in human beings, second most prominent form of exploitation of victims, immediately after human trafficking for sexual exploitation. This paper will give an overview of the international legal framework and the national legal framework of the Republic of Croatian which prohibits forced labor and trafficking in human beings for labor exploitation. It will explore and analyze all possible forms of labor exploitation: forced labor and servitude, debt bondage and forced labor and servitude to children. It will also examine final court decisions in order to obtain information on accused and convicted offenders and the sentences imposed. Reference will be made to the victims of labor exploitation, according to sex, age, citizenship, as well as the sector in which the victims were exploited. The conclusion will, based on the current situation, try to indicate the de lege ferenda proposals.
