Sažetak
In this paper the author is researching the issues of the social capital development and its relations to a tourist destination management process. To this matter the author uses holistic approach, using basic premises of the system theory and applying it to the destination. Aiming at explanation of a destination as a complex organisational /social system that needs to be manged for the purpose of achieving synergy, that is to reduce entropic processes that are immanent to any system including the social one, the author stresses social capital as a heterogeneous category, whose development is the basic prerequisite for the destination management and related to it the level of its competitiveness.
