Sažetak
Paper is focused on career related characteristics of socially and economically deprived adolescents and low school achievers. We have compared results of the disadvantaged groups against averaged and above average adolescents in their interest profiles, work values, levels of career adaptability, problems in career decision making, their career maturity, vocational outcome expectations and educational and career aspirations. The results revealed expected and significant differences between disadvantaged groups and their privileged counterparts, and emphasized severe adverse effects of low SES and educational underachievement on career development. The obtained results point toward the necessity of implementation of early career guidance interventions targeted to disadvantaged groups of adolescents.
