Sažetak
This article addresses the question of whether it is possible to affirm those segments of Ivan Zajc’s oeuvre which were evaluated by musicology as being of low quality and, as such, a ‘marginal’ part of his artistic output. As one of these supposedly ‘marginal’ parts, the songs of Ivan Zajc are the focus of this paper. The questions of how they were listened to by musicologists, what musicologists found in them, and what remained beyond their ears are addressed.
