Sažetak
Intermodal transportation represents the movement of goods in the same cargo unit or on the road vehicle used by two or more modes of transport without touching the cargo during transhipment from one vehicle to another. This master thesis defines the meaning of intermodal transport and it describes the organization of intermodal rail lines, so as the liberalization of the market of railway services. It also describes the legal organization of intermodal transport which plays an important role in facilitating the international trade. There are shown the analysis of the master thesis of northern Adriatic port of Rijeka and Koper which are representing the introduction into the analysis of technique and technology on the relation Rijeka - South Poland. There was also made the analysis of the container terminal Gliwice which represents the destination point on the railway track. As the key part of the master thesis, there is described the proposal of the optimal intermodal rail line on a given transport route.
