Sažetak
Mura-Drava was declared a Regional Park by Decree of Croatian Government in 2011. However, very little is known about how much did this fact impact destination planning in tourism and also on the overall development of sustainable ecotourism in the area of its coverage. Hence, the purpose of this work is to analyze the current situation and development opportunities for ecotourism in the Regional Park Mura-drava and through empirical research determine the extent to which the proclamation of park has affected the strategic planning of tourism development based on sustainability and the use of preserved natural resources. Since the potentials for developing of ecotourism are very little or not used at all and there is a lack of a strategy which would encourage its development on area of Regional Park Mura- Drava, research results will be used to set concrete strategic guidelines for sustainable development of ecotourism on the area of Regional Park. Through development of eco- tourism and resource managament in line with sustainable development, area of Regional Park Mura-Drava coud offer a high quality tourism product.
