Sažetak
The revitalization of hazelnut as forerunners of shell fruit species in recent years is very pronounced. A significant increase of new surfaces and in the absence of the basic fruit growing knowledge or professional advice often leads to cardinal error in start. Trends of raising new surfaces indicate that new producers do not pay enough attention to the selection of potentially ideal location, i.e., raise them to potentially hazardous micro- location. Good locations are largely coincide with the wine-growing areas, and due to the lack of available plots production in recent years tends to be sliding down to unfavorable sites (areas of high groundwater and alluvial surface water, landfills and stationary cold air). Analysis and display areas suitable for growing hazelnuts and possible statistical analysis (SAGA) made in the GIS environment. GIS tools were used in the form of a computer program Quantum GIS (QGIS). According to analyzed data from 2012, about winterkill hazel buds and lack of yield, a review was conducted about potentially favorable and unfavorable locations in Baranja (eastern Croatia) and its mountain Banovo brdo. Results have been obtained with regard to the damage representation, which ranged from 0 to 100 %, indicate that there is a big difference between micro locations that are conditioned by altitude and exposition.
