Sažetak
Dynamic development of 2G, 2G+ and 3G mobile communications and wireless Internet open new possibilites for ITS applications oriented to improving traffic safety and security. In transitional countries without e-roads facilities, traffic engineers have to evaluate several solutions for traffic/transport safety application based on GSM, GPRS, GPS and WAP technologies. Paper discuss existed wirelees network facilities aplicable for emergency call, assistance receiving in case of incident, safety readiness, vehicle security, etc.
