Sažetak
The focus of this talk will be on the recognition and binding modes of flexible polyamine receptor bearing hydrogen donor- and acceptor functionalities towards different anionic substrates (Fig 1). This receptor proved highly sensitive to anions’ properties, altering its conformation and assembling to higher-order supramolecular hosts, which finally leads to separation of target anion by crystallization, even from highly competitive solute systems.5 It was shown how, for the binding of environmentally relevant inorganic anions, specific anion properties other than geometry can be strongly correlated to the type of receptor’s response. The same adaptive behavior was further tested for the solid-state supramolecular recognition of isomeric organic dicarboxylic acids in mechanochemical milling procedures.6 In these systems, the geometry of the guest will strongly affect the folding of receptor, providing a basis for the recognition and highly efficient separation of target guests from the solid systems containing a large excess of isomeric competitors.
