Sažetak
As variety is the spice of life, so proverbs may be the spice in a classroom. They convey wisdom and provide culturally-specific insights, stimulate discussion, embellish arguments, bring playfulness in tedious grammar tasks and make learning pleasing and memorable. This workshop offers variety of activities and ideas to incorporate into language teaching making students insiders rather than outsiders of the target language and culture. Proverbs are like butterflies, since some are caught and others fly away. To ensure the active participation of our learners and catch their attention, it is crucial to spice the teaching and prevent students´ focus from flying away. Proverbs may serve as a tool to give culture colour, excitement, wisdom and stimulus to communication, cooperation and investigation. As proverbs are a snapshot of other cultures, they provide an excellent opportunity to practice language and develop better cultural understanding. They
