Sažetak
Neutron monitors (NM) have established itself as a reliable instrument for measuring sec- ondary particles, which are produced by primary cosmic rays in the atmosphere. NM’s pro- vide important information about the temporal variation of cosmic rays on time scales from minutes to decades. By recent publications our understanding of the modeling of the mea- sured NM count rates with the intensity variation of the primary cosmic rays has strongly improved. Reasons for that are the calculation of a more realistic yield-function and the cos- mic ray intensity measurements by the Voyager, PAMELA and AMS detectors. The latter provide a new parameterization of the Local Interstellar spectrum that together with force field approximation and the yield functions can be utilized to ascribe the neutron monitor count rates. Although the force field approximation is strictly speaking not applicable to describe short- term variations like Forbush decreases it has been shown that the measured energy spectra can be fitted by a force-field energy spectrum. In the current study we in- vestigate the variation of the "Forbush"-Potential for specific neutron monitors utilizing the measurements from the Electron Proton Helium INstrument (EPHIN) as model input.
