Sažetak
Latvia and Croatia are two young European transitional countries. According to the classification made by the World Bank on the basis of income and region for the year 2006, Latvia and Croatia were classified as upper middle-income economies coming under Europe and Central Asian region. As a result of the global financial and economic crisis both countries entered in a phase of recession. The aim of the paper is to present the socio-demographic and the economic profile of Latvia and Croatia and to research the economic realities of the countries.
