Sažetak
The goal of the research is to test the possible differences in the connection between self-efficacy, work orientations and job satisfaction among teachers who are leaders of school cooperatives and those who are heads of some other extra-curricular activities. A self- determination theory was used as the working theoretical framework. Teachers of cross-curricular teaching and subject-based teaching (N=330) participated in the research – leaders of various extra- curricular activities. The tested variables included: work orientations to a job, career and vocation, self-efficacy and job satisfaction. The range of work orientations for the teaching profession, which was modified for the purpose of this research, shows a satisfactory factorial validity and reliability. Subsequent analyses within the sub-sample indicate that the teachers have the most expressed orientation towards vocation. Subsequent analyses within the sub-sample indicate that the teachers have the most expressed orientation towards vocation, the lesser one towards career, and the least one towards the job. In this matter, work orientation to vocation has proved to be the predictor of job satisfaction among the leaders of other extra-curricular activities. There was no difference in self-efficacy among the sub- samples. The research has identified differences in job satisfaction among the leaders of various activities, which are very likely a result of individual, professional, organizational- cultural and motivational factors. Theoretical contributions of this thesis include range modifications of work orientations intended for primary school teachers – leaders of extra-curricular activities, and a better understanding of the relations between work orientations of teachers, their benefits and efficacy, as well as the understanding of the problematics of a particular extra-curricular activity – school cooperative. Practical dimension of the research includes the possibility to create a more efficient working environment that would satisfy teachers’ basic psychological needs and hence it would increase their well being.
