Sažetak
This chapter discusses the geographic aspects of Ruđer Josip Bošković's activities. Even though his achievements in determining the Earth's size, his discussions on the Earth's shape, isostasy, high and low tides etc. are considered achievements in geodesy, geophysics and geology, these issues were studied at the time within geography and astronomy. Considering the historical context in which he lived, Bošković should also be considered a geographer. After all, he was a traveller and scientist who carefully studied the world he worked in. It is quite impossible to overlook the geographic basis of his great hydrotechnical expertise and perceptive observations regarding the geographic characteristics of the many parts of Europe he visited.
