Sažetak
Resistance to T. spiralis infection is associated with accelerated expulsion of adult worms, decreased fecundity of female worms, and decreased muscle larval burdens. To assess the role of γ δ TCR T cells in the control of the timing of the mucosal response to enteric parasitic infections, we used C57BL mice, orally infected with 200 viable T. spiralis larvae. We speculate that γ δ TCR of iIEL during early stage of infection recognize and eliminate damaged epithelial cells generated by parasite antigens, concomitantly accelerating the worm expulsion.
