Sažetak
This paper provides theoretical analysis of applying novel techniques in crafting transactional business software used in SME segment. It combines state-of-the-art research in Cloud Computing and practical experience in defining key advancements applicable to SME system design. Reasoning is backed by analysis of data from Electronic Cash Register software used by thousands of SME companies in Croatian market. Furthermore, proposed guidelines have been validated by conducting experiments with custom built system for migrating classical monolith software applications to cloud architecture. Results indicate that SMEs could benefit from multi-tenant microservices architecture and significantly reduce operating costs by applying software elasticity.
