Sažetak
The purpose of this study is to reveal the importance of accounting information use in non-profit organizations. The empirical research is carried out on the charitable organizations that operate in Croatia. The aim was to determine if the accounting is deployed for planning and control. The findings suggest that charitable organizations with internal accounting system have better basis for planning process than those that are outsourcing accounting. Most of them prepare strategic plans relying on the accounting information. Also, board scope of accounting information can be used as a good basis for decision-making as well as for the control.
