Sažetak
We used a micro ELISA test to mesure serum amyloid A protein (SAA) levels for 10 consecutive days in capillary sera or plasma of 41 children suffering from respiratory tract infections, mainly pneumonias. We conclude that SAA is a very sensitive indicator of the disease activity in children with respiratory tract infections and very helpful in antimicrobial therapy control.
