Sažetak
Maritime transport is increasing dramatically in terms of volume and quantity. One of the basic tasks in the shipping industry is to ensure safe passage and navigation. Ship domain and judging the time required to ensure collision avoidance plays an important role in navigating a ship. Automatization, technology, enviromental factor, leadership and team work seem to be the typical control methods. However the aim of this paper is to present a control methodology for seafarers while working at sea. Human error is a major cause of ship collisions. The objective is to identify and define, using quantitative method, limits of areas where navigational collision risk is present. The article proposes the optimal methods of collision risk assesment, with the intent of optimising the collision avoidance decision making process in open sea using variable angles of rudder steering.
