Sažetak
The pneumatic manipulator controlled by programmable logic controller (PLC) is the laboratory device that has in the first place educational aim. Its employment is in electro-pneumatic control education. The pneumatic manipulator originally was controlled by "pure" pneumatic method, i.e. by so-called Tact method using only pneumatically control components. The task of a student work was to apply electromagnetically actuated pneumatic valves controlled by the PLC. Additional task was to do a unit which would be able to detect whether pieces are accepted by manipulator's vacuum gripper or not. This unit consists of pneumatic elements and pneumatic-electric transducer. The paper will describe pneumatic manipulator and its control using kinematic, pneumatic, electric and control schemes. The paper will also give a comparison between the old one, "pure" pneumatic control, and the new one, modern electronic control applied on the pneumatic manipulator. A short review of our projects and equipment in electro-pneumatics and electro-hydraulics realized through student works will be given in the paper, as well as a consideration about further development of the pneumatic manipulator.
