Sažetak
The paper presents smart protection device coordination procedure for electrical motor drives connected on distribution network. Protection coordination was in the past performed manually with errors which could cause serious damages to electrical equipment and personnel. Development of computers and software algorithms enabled electrical engineers to provide accurate, useful and easy to use procedure for proper relay and protection devices coordination in distribution and industrial networks. In this paper, EasyPower software with SmartPDC module is used for modeling all distribution network components, overhead lines, cables, transformers, numerical relays, motors, soft starters, breakers and fuses. Practical sample case is presented with manual and smart protection device coordination procedure for electrical motor drives in transformer station TS Plješavac in distribution network of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
