Sažetak
Cationisation during the mercerization process with an epihalohydrin results in novel cotton cellulose that gives a new dimension to cotton pre-treatment and finishing. The modified cotton retains all the beneficial properties of mercerized cotton with a change of the surface charge that ensures higher adsorption of water, surfactants, and dyestuff. Therefore, in this paper cotton fabric was cationized during mercerization with an epihalohydrin 3-chloro-2-hydroxypropyl trimethyl-ammonium chloride (CHPTAC) and with cationic reactive polyammonium compounds Rewin OS (CHT-Bezema) and Rewin DWR (CHT-Bezema). Based on the researched electrokinetics, the modified cotton fabrics were dyed with natural dyestuff Juglans regia L. isolated from dried chestnut shells without mordant. The the spectral coordinates, the colour strength (K/S) and the colour fastness according to ISO 105-A05:1996 were determined using remission spectrophotometer. For the test of fastness fabrics were washed according to ISO 6330:2012.
