Sažetak
When discussing British English and American English their differences are perceived throughout the way and manner the speakers of both varieties speak, taking into consideration their geographical positions as well. However, when analyzing language in detail it is visible that there is a great amount of components that contribute to the above mentioned differences as well. This is the case with the grammatical system, spelling and pronunciation system, historical development of both British and American English as well as their relationship with other domains and subfields of the English language. This confirms the fact that the differences between these varieties are much more complex than the average speaker of the English language perceives.
