Sažetak
Fluorocarbon (FC) polymer is characterized by extremely low surface tension and high stability. Due to perfluorinated hydrocarbon group in FC resin secondary structure, formed film in the stage of condensation on the cotton fabric surface, results in the high water- and oil-repellency. However, FC resin curing is usually performed at high temperature (>160 °C), what is economically unfavourable, and leads to cotton fabric damage. The aim of this research was to achieve wash persistant cotton oil- and water-repellency by low-temperature FC resin curing (120 °C). For that purpose three FC resins were applied to finishing of white cotton fabric. Aqueous polymer waxes were added as extenders to FC resin, and aliphatic polyisocyanate as low-temperature activator. The fabric properties were determined after domestic washing with standard ECE detergent without fluorescent whitening agents (ISO 6330:2012) and ironing. The achieved durability of fabric oil-repellency, water-repellency, whiteness, yellowing, and breaking strength proved an efficient low-temperature curing.
