Sažetak
Mathematics as a science and marine activity follow each other throughout history. What they have in common is that occur almost at the same time from the human need to perform different activities. The unbreakable is their relationship from the history to the present day. The emergence and development of mathematics and maritime, addiction one on the other and the importance of education of the modern workforce is the backbone of the work. Maritime training should be adapted to the modern maritime industry since the development of technology, society and science differences that existed in the education of young sailors now and then increasing, but will mathematics and its role in maritime affairs remains unchanged. The aim of this paper is to bring history and the development of mathematics and maritime and point to the importance of knowledge of mathematics and navigation.
