Sažetak
Body-gender-ageing is extremely important issues for deeper understanding of ageing and old age as well as their socio-cultural aspects. Body is not only the physical entity but is saturated with many meanings, social and cultural codes where Gubrium i Holstein (2003) emphasize the connection between the physical („objective“) body and interpreted i.e. „subjective“ or „ephemeral“ body. The body is an important marker of age, however, the experiences, meanings and reflections of (own) body and body representations from the position of older women, are still not sufficiently visible in the social and cultural gerontology. As old age and ageing are not a gender neutral phenomenon, exactly the gender component in questioning relationship of ageing and body gives a more complex and multi-dimensional image. The presentation is based on the analysis of depth interviews with women (+65) where the focus of analysis are the (everyday) experiences, meanings and interpretations of their own bodies, managing strategies and presentations of ageing body and different narratives about „ageing femininities“ (Dolan & Tincknell, 2012). The research results show that the population +65 is extremely heterogeneous and that „femininity“ is a socio-cultural construct whose interpretations, meanings and specific performances depend on a number of internal (biographical) and external (social and cultural) factors.
