Sažetak
Field practical work is an indispensable part in the education of future social workers. The purpose of this paper is to analyse the guidelines and conclusions from the conference entitled »Implementation of the Croatian Qualifications Framework in the Field of Law and Social Work«, held in September 2015 and attended by field work teachers, university teachers and students of social work. The first part gives examples of how field work is organised in other European social work graduate programmes, describes the legislative framework and the theoretical concepts relative to the experiential learning models on which the field work for students of social work is based. The paper continues to elaborate on the function of field work in social work in the Croatian context, presenting also the research results. The paper finally presents guidelines for a more successful implementation of field work, developed jointly by the participants of the conference. The guidelines are critically analysed and additionally substantiated with the results of the research and suggestions regarding field work, as well as personal comments from the authors of this paper. This paper provides guidelines for the organisation and implementation of field work within social work graduate programmes, and offers an overview of research and models which may be of help to field work teachers, students and university teachers, that is, individuals who develop and embody the practical side of social work and the education of future social workers in Croatia.
