Sažetak
As a prominent factor of historical development, migrations influenced creation of the comprehensive picture of certain region, in the first place of its demographic, social, political, ethno-cultural and mental circumstances. The process of migrations itself is the object of research of numerous sciences and scholarly disciplines and strictly because of that such research requires interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary approach. Also, through a series of examples, the methodology and scholarly approaches to the study of migrations will be demonstrated, and certain methodological limitations pointed out. Additional information on sources will be provided also through references to scholarly works discussing problems of migrations from various aspects. In geographical sense, the research is focussed on the Venetian centres of East Adriatic – Zadar and Kotor and Venice herself, while in chronological sense it is primarily limited on the seventeenth and the eighteenth century.
