Sažetak
This paper describes implementation of constitutive material law for fired clay in tension, using Finite-Discrete Element Method (FDEM). Numerical model, developed according to FDEM includes 1D constitutive law of solid clay to model fracture behavior under tension load. Shape and geometry obtained from test specimen, are interpreted into numerical 2D model. Different sizes of mesh for different specimen geometry are subject to iterative load intensity in order to determine fracture stress, and are used for model calibration. Comparison between numerical and experimental results confirmed appropriate constitutive law for fired clay, and thus enable further numerical analysis for specimen subjected to compression and shear.
