Sažetak
According to FAO data the meat production in Ctroatia in 1993 was as follows: cattle 38000 tons, pork 135000 tons, poultry meat 75000 tons and mutton 2000 tons. It was not sufficient for home consumption, and domestic demand can stimulate home production. Cattle production cannot be increased quickly because of its bad structure. Pork production falls considerably behind the efficacvy in developed countries. Due to the nucertaintines regarding protective measures the speed of increasing the quality and efficiency of pork production will be the decisive factor fo future port meat production in Croatia. Poultry meat production has attained a high technological level and probably will sustain future integration in the world market.
