Sažetak
In the highest number of small and middle large countries of Southeast Europe most of metropolitan areas are concentrated in capital cities where the two thirds of metropolitan functions are present. That is the situation in Croatia and City of Zagreb too. In this research all data on business activities are collected in the cities of Zagreb county (area of 30-40 kilometres from Zagreb) with the goal to establish is this area profited or had negative impact in number and quality of business activities due to Zagreb vicinity. These data are based on field survey and mapping. Field research was done in period 2014-2016 and the goal was to register, map and analyse business subjects in the wider metropolitan are i.e. in the cities of Zagreb County and on this basis get conclusions of economic structure in this area. The analysed area includes central parts of these cities i.e. areas with greatest number of business activities, because the analysis of County municipalities would not yield satisfactory results(the fact is the most of the activities are concentrated in the cities). A census of business activities shows certain patterns and gives conclusions about business activities and functions of the cities in the City of Zagreb metropolitan area.
