Sažetak
This paper comments on possibilities for the use of renewable energy in large-scale electricity
production in Croatia, explains the background of planned controversial thermal power plants and the current
public response, and reviews the main determinants of Croatian environmental law. In addition, it explains how
proper education in the fields of energy, financing, environmental protection and environmental law can
help adopt sustainable development strategy.
