Sažetak
Described in the paper are environmental aspects of the joint project to develop offshore gas fields In the Adriatic Sea, the IVANA Gas Contract area, with participation of the Croatian INA company and the Italian ENI group Agip. The Ivana gas field, located below the Croatian seabed, has been developed with 12 production wells drilled from one central and four satellite platforms. The production was started in November 1999 with five wells. From the idea, exploration, drilling operations to the production environmental concerns were of primary Importance. In conformity with such practice and in the line with global trends appropriate measurements of environmental conditions have been carried out and the best solutions for the selected technology applied. In all of these phases we took in consideration relevant Croatian and International legislation. In order to authorize the process a number of documents were requested. Environmental Impact study as a main document have been conducted to define the effect of platform and pipeline installation on the sea marine environment. On this base we obtained a general Approval and Location permit. In drilling phase special attention was paid on the quality at drilling field. The gas production is a cycle technological process in which the environmental protection system includes five independent system installed on the central platform Ivana A: Oily water treatment system, Biological sewage treatment Drain system, Municipal waste, and Other waste material disposal system. On satellite platforms there will be no discharge of process water into the sea. Marine environment monitoring program exist as continuous, seasonal and annual frequency of measurements. Experiences gained so far by INA-Naftaplin on the application of modern technologies in onshore gas wells with extremely difficult conditions and unfavorable composition of fluids, and the long-standing tradition of ENI/Agip in production of hydrocarbons from the offshore, are the guarantee of safe production of gas with minimum harmful impact on the environment and preservation of the blue Adriatic for the future.
