Sažetak
The study looks into the relationship between the psychotypology and frequency of the exploitation of formal similarity existing between previously acquired languages and the target language during target language performance. More specifically, it examines the frequency of exploitation of formal similarity, with and without semantic overlap, existing between L1 and L3 and L2 and L3 with three typologically unrelated languages whereby the formal similarity between both language combinations is balanced through a task. The results suggest that the exploitation of formal similarity between previously acquired languages and the L3 during the L3 production is constrained by other factors rather than the perceived distance between the three languages at the language-system level.
