Sažetak
The paper presents the application of Open Badges (OBs) for recognizing, assessing and learners' achievements in developing their soft skills in higher education. The results are accomplished within the EU LLP research project “Grading soft skills”, at one partner institution – University of Zagreb, Faculty of Textile technology. The skills in focus are creativity, communication and collaboration. The paper briefly discusses the metrics used to assess learners' soft skills and describes a practical example of how Open Badges are used for grading soft skills. Finally, the paper presents the results of students’ feedback that is obtained within a survey. It is concluded that OBs could be considered the most viable means of recognizing and credentialing soft skills that are presently available and useful tool for seamless validity checks of the skill/competency-related claims made by any particular individual.
